Don’t be a victim of forged insurance claims
“Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains taken to bring it to light.”
Almost everyone on Earth is aware of insurance frauds. The insurance field is wide and frauds exist in every sector. In the midst of several forged insurance claim cases, we were entrusted yet another insurance case for quick investigation and brief report.
Mr. X stepped in along with his friend to Fourth Force, one of India’s leading Background Verification Company that undertakes verification for several distinct sectors in the country. By looks and conversation he was found to be immaculate in nature. After meeting my lower officials, who had inquired him about the nature and depth of the case, he walked in to meet me. He opened up about the complete insurance claim and asked us to take immediate action. After certain formalities, he moved down our office with our assurance to fulfill his venture within a short time span.
The distinction between success and failure in an investigation is proper management.
We usually raise four key questions to crack down any case.
- How are we going to gather the evidence?
- What do we want to achieve at the end?
- What resources are needed?
- How to make use of evidences?
After sorting out answers for the above questions, we entrusted the case to the concerned Fourth Force unit (Jammu and Kashmir) to conduct the verification before the claim would be granted. This case was quite challenging for us, since we had to proceed our verification on the single road stretching between Srinagar and Kargil/Leh that was expected to be closed down anytime due to the heavy snowfall that occurs during the winter. Due to the shortage of time, we quickly triggered the concerned Police Stations in Drass and Kargil and sent our employee for undertaking further investigation and piling up the documents pertaining to the case. Regardless of the clumpsy environment, our employee had to set out for a night journey to Drass and Kargil to complete the formalities related to the case before the closure of the only link between Srinagar and Kargil. The whole investigation comprising of, meeting the claimant and the owner of the vehicle, driver of the accidental vehicle, collection of documents, visiting the accident site and photographs of the scene from different angles was completed in a period of less than three days.
Thus with the full support from the Hospital administration of district Kargil, local Court and Police Station Fourth Force was able to finally close down the case.
